Business and client workflows
Client Kickoff & Scope Clarity Kit
Capture a clear starting point before project work begins. Internal planning aids; these forms are not contracts.

What’s inside
Discovery notes
Record what was said, attribute decisions and leave unknowns visible.
- Project / date / participants
- Problem to solve and current process
- Desired outcome and evidence of success
- Constraints, dependencies and unanswered questions
Scope boundaries
Use specific outputs. Confirm the scope through your normal contracting process before making commitments.
- Deliverables included
- Work explicitly excluded
- Inputs the client must provide / due dates
- Decision owner and acceptance criteria
Kickoff agenda
Keep one accountable owner per action. Distinguish a proposal from an approved decision.
- Objective / meeting date
- Topics and time allocation
- Decisions required / decision makers
- Actions, owners and next review
Change request record
Do not treat a request as approval. Record the decision before changing the agreed work.
- Request ID / date / requester
- Requested change and reason
- Estimated schedule / effort effects and assumptions
- Decision / approver / date / evidence
A worked example
Fictional example: Maple Design is asked to refresh a brochure. Scope includes six pages and two review rounds; printing is excluded. The client supplies approved text by October 8. A later request for four extra pages is recorded as CR-01, with effort and schedule effects pending review. The original scope stays in force until the decision owner approves the change.
Fits your workflow when…
